WOE Makes Debut Album Available As Pay-What-You-Wish Digital Download
February 5, 2009Chris Grigg of Philadelphia black metallers WOE has released the following statement regarding the new "pay-what-you-will" option on the band's web site for WOE's critically acclaimed debut album, "A Spell for the Death of Man".
"WOE is not a marketing scheme or career path. It is not something we do to get famous, get girls, get friends, get sponsorships, or look cool. (A good thing, too, since it has not and cannot do any of those things!) The amount of time, energy, and personal money poured into this project for no reason other than passion for the art is staggering and, as time goes on, will continue and increase. A dollar amount of your choice can be entered and, when the process is complete, you will start the download of a zip file (approx 102MB) containing the complete 'A Spell for the Death of Man' album in MP3 (320kbps) format along with the CD insert and lyrics. It is DRM-free so you can do with it as you please. Just like every dollar that comes in from sold items and shows, this money will also go DIRECTLY to recording, merchandise, and travel expenses."
"A Spell for the Death of Man" was released in 2008 by Stronghold Records.
